Expert Human Resource Series - Wage and Hour Requirements

 

Join the Scottsdale Area Chamber of Commerce and Mountain States Employers Council for a series focused on Human Resources. Each seminar will have a different topic ranging from hiring practices, social media, legal issues today and more. This informal series is designed to be a discussion between human resource representatives and is facilitated by a human resource processional.

Topic description: Are you prepared for the U.S. Department of Labor (“DOL”) knocking on your door?  The DOL has stepped up its enforcement in the last several years regarding misclassification of employees.  Do you know if your employees are properly classified as exempt?  Do you properly pay employees if they attend training?  Are you required to provide your employees with breaks?  Are you paying your employees on time?  These and other pitfalls are ever looming for employers.  We will discuss ways that employers can mitigate their legal exposure in the wage and hour area.
