Celebrate the season with the Carolyn Eynon Singers as they present Holiday Carols & Classics — a joyful concert weaving together cherished holiday favorites, timeless choral masterpieces, and exciting new works by contemporary American composers.Audiences will enjoy beloved carols such as Carol of the Drum, Deck the Halls, It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas, Carol of the Bells, We Wish You a Merry Christmas, and the rousing traditional closer, Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus.
Joining the ensemble is harpist Jocelyn Obermeyer, featured in several selections. Highlights include the world premiere of Mary Ellen Loose’s commissioned work Celestial Symphony (with harp and baritone soloist), as well as Glow by Eric Whitacre and O Magnum Mysterium by Morten Lauridsen. Folk and traditional songs such as A la Nanita Nana, Ocho Kandelikas (for Hanukkah), Star in the East, and Irish Carol by Arizona composer Linda Spevacek round out the program.
