to HALO Animal Rescue

Employees make final donation of 2024

Glendale, AZ — Credit Union West employees, in partnership with the CU West CARES Charitable Foundation, donated $7,928.32 to HALO Animal Rescue as part of the credit union’s EmployeesCARE Program. The donation check was presented to HALO by credit union executives on February 24, 2025, at Credit Union West’s corporate office in Glendale. HALO was chosen as the 2024 Q4 EmployeesCARE donation recipient by staff for their dedication to helping homeless pets.

HALO is a nonprofit organization in Phoenix that provides a safety net for thousands of homeless dogs and cats each year. HALO is an acronym that stands for Helping Animals Live On, and the organization has helped over 82,000 cats and dogs find new homes since their founding in 1994. The nonprofit began as a foster network for homeless pets and has since grown into an 8,600 square foot no-kill animal shelter.

“At Credit Union West, we love pets so I’m happy to see that our employees voted to provide these funds to an organization that helps local pets find homes like HALO,” said Karen Roch, President and CEO.

This was the final donation from the credit union’s EmployeesCARE Program in 2024. The program is funded solely through employee donations and benefits four local, nonprofit organizations each year. The funds for this donation were generously matched dollar for dollar by contributions from the CU West CARES Charitable Foundation.
