Vote Now For Scottsdale’s Phone Case Design Finalist
As Cox Mobile Fan Favorite
21 Boys & Girls Clubs of America teens nationwide competing for $5,000 scholarship
SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA, March 26, 2025 – Cox Mobile and Boys & Girls Clubs of America announced the addition of the Cox Mobile Fan Favorite Contest to their Mobile Phone Case Design Contest. Starting today, individuals nationwide can vote for their favorite phone case design as the Cox Mobile Fan Favorite. The winning artist will receive a $5,000 Cox Mobile scholarship.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale finalist Joshua G. describes his painting. “The universe is expanding at 3.26 million light years a second. One light year at 670 million mph. The Big Bang is said to have happened around 26 billion years ago. Over this entire course, it can be estimated that the universe is around 8.47 with 16 zeros light-years wide, or about 5.67 with 27 zeroes miles wide. Space is immense. In this painting, I tried to replicate the vastness of space and how little we, as humans, are compared to it. I created this piece of art to demonstrate my love for space."
You can vote for Joshua G. by choosing “Joshua G.-Phoenix” at www.cox.com/phonecasecontest and in local Cox retail stores. Every vote helps showcase the creativity and talent within the Greater Phoenix community while supporting Boys & Girls Clubs of America nationwide.
“Our partnership with Cox Mobile has made a lasting impact on the kids and teens we serve,” said Alexis Sanchez, COO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale. “Opportunities like the Cox Mobile Phone Case Design Contest and Cox Mobile Fan Favorite Contest not only inspire creativity but also show our Club members that their talents and ideas are valued.”
About the Mobile Phone Case Design Contest
The Mobile Phone Case Design Contest encouraged teen members to design a phone case inspired by “A World Within Reach.” The designs illustrate the power of digital access and connectivity in unlocking opportunities for education, creativity and innovation. The contest marks the 20th anniversary of Cox Innovation labs, located in Boys & Girls Clubs nationwide.
On March 25, Cox Mobile and Boys & Girls Club announced Gracie A. of Louisiana as the grand prize winner. She received a $25,000 scholarship and OtterBox will manufacture her design. The phone case will be sold online and in Cox retail stores. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Boys & Girls Clubs of America. In addition, Gracie’s home Club in Acadiana, Louisiana will receive a $25,000 grant for a Cox Innovation Lab, providing technology and resources kids need to succeed.
“For decades, Cox has been proud to partner with Boys & Girls Clubs of America to empower young people with the technology and opportunities they need to succeed,” said Cox Phoenix Market Vice President Susan Anable. “This contest reflects our shared commitment to fostering imagination and innovation, and we’re honored to help bring these young artists like Joshua G.’s vision to life while supporting the incredible work of Boys & Girls Clubs here in the Greater Phoenix area and nationwide.”
